Supporting STEM
We need to support student engagement and success in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects today to ensure an innovative and healthy society tomorrow. AP STEM courses and exams — and the kinds of critical thinking, experimentation, and problem-solving they cultivate — support national efforts to increase student achievement in these critical subjects.
Participation and success in AP STEM subjects have increased over the last 10 years, but our work isn't done. To ensure that more students succeed in these subjects, we need to continue to work with schools, districts, states, and higher education institutions to provide more opportunities to prepare students for the challenges of these subjects in middle school and the early high school years.
